Moving from BOL's CookieYes account to your own

Prerequisite
To start, create your own CookieYes account, create an organization within that account (Usually your business name), and add a new site to the organization set to your website domain (We typically recommend your main domain with no www included...so just mydomain.com). Click here to sign up for the Pro Plan which is the plan you will most likely need.
To transfer the cookie banner in CookieYes from a BOL account to your own, you will first need admin access to both accounts.
1. Download Consent Logs
- In the current BOL account, go to "Manage Site" -> "Consent Log" https://app.cookieyes.com/consent-logs
- Click "Export as CSV." Under "Select a date range to export data," choose "All Time" and then click "Export as CSV" again.
- You should get an email from CookieYes with the CSV to download. Note that you will only have 7 days from receiving the email to download the log.
- Keep this data as a log of your cookie banner's consent history prior to the transfer.
2. Copy Configuration
- Go to the "Organizations and Sites" tab and click into the organization you are transferring from (The BOL account site). https://app.cookieyes.com/settings/organizations-and-sites
- Click the three dots to the right side of the site, and click "Copy Configuration"
- Select your destination organization and site (Your account's site). Click "Publish Configuration"
3. Match Settings
- Go to the site you are copying to (your account) and click "Manage Site"
- Click through the "Cookie Banner" tab settings/content to make sure everything was copied over correctly.
- Go to the "Advanced Settings" tab and compare the settings to the same tab in the BOL account. Make any changes to your account's site settings to match what is in the BOL account's site settings.
4. Run a Cookie Scan
- Go to the "Cookie Manager" tab and run a cookie scan.
- When the scan is finished, check the cookie categorization to make sure it found everything and categorized it correctly.
- Set up monthly cookie scans to keep the cookie manager updated.
5. Launch the New Cookie Banner
This is where
- Check if you are implementing CookieYes through a script added to the head of your site or through Google Tag Manager (GTM).
- If added through a script:
- You can find the new script by going to "Dashboard" -> "Cookie banner status" -> "Get installation code" -> "Install manually on website" and copy the code
- Replace the script in the head of your site with the newly copied script.
- If Webflow, go to Site Settings -> Custom Code -> Look in Head code.
- If WordPress, check your Theme documentation.
- HubSpot
- If added through GTM:
- You can find the new key by going to "Dashboard" -> "Cookie banner status" -> "Get installation code" -> "Install with Google Tag Manager" and copy the key.
- Update the cookieyes key in GTM to this new account's site key.
- Verify the new banner is live. Check cookies on the site to make sure they are being blocked correctly.
